Christmas Tradition....
Well I guess if you do anything more than once it makes it a Christmas Tradition....so this was the Second Annual Christmas Cookie Bake-A-Thon and Delivery Event at the Higginbotham House! Last year, the Higginbotham children came over one day and we baked cookies and delivered them to all my neighbors for Christmas. Well, they came back this year, so it is an official tradition I guess! After watching Elf, the girls got busy in the kitchen while Uncle Dave and Noah played the Wii. We made several batches of chocolate chip cookies for my neighbors and then bundled up and took them out. The neighbors really like them, and love to see the kids. I only let them eat once spoonful (heaping I might add) of cookie dough. They told me their mom usually lets them do that. However, they neglected to tell me that it is only a tiny little morsel of cookie dough that she gives them, not the giant spoonful I gave them...hopefully no one ended up with salmonella. What would Christmas be after all without a little trip to the ER??

Happy Birthday Micah!
On Saturday, we had a full day of fun planned for Micah. We started out with paintball out at Liberty Paintball which was super fun! Micah and Justin laughed pretty hard at me when I came outside in my full camo jumpsuit. However, they were not laughing anymore when they couldn't see me in the forest and I was lighting them up with paintballs. We had an awesome time, or at least David and I did. Being that it was Micah and Justin's first time to play and all, we had a slight advantage. I felt bad because poor Micah kept getting hit and had these huge welps all over here. Happy birthday to ya!! So after a fun morning of paintball, we went to dinner and then back to Justin and Micah's for a surprise party. Several of our other friends from church as well as Micah's family came. It was really fun and we had some great food! So the moral of the story is this....do not make fun of someone in camo when: 1. You have never played paintball, and 2. You are playing on the woods course. Justin did tell me though that I looked like I had lost weight....jerk.
Micah was a little nervous on the way there....she didn't know where we were going, and I came to the car in full camo gear...
Examining the wounds...
Check out Justin's highlights where I popped him in the head..
Surprise!!!

Oh my....Kenny G
Last night, we got one of our Christmas gifts from my mother early, and that was tickets to the Kenny G concert in Huntsville. Now, David and I are not big fans of Kenny G, but he is quite a talented musician, and his band is incredible. Anyways, we took off to Huntsville and ate at Tony's Little Italy which I had never eaten at before, then headed to the concert. When we walked in the Lobby, Kenny G was standing there selling merchandise, signing autographs and kissing babies. We headed up I swear 13 flights of stairs up to our seats, which surprisingly were still good, and settled in for the night. Like I said before, his band is really good. During the encore, he actually walked up and played in the balcony right where we were sitting. It was pretty neat. I thought my mother was going to stroke out she was so excited! Here are some shots from the night
David is extra thrilled to be there...
P.S.-I've got to find out what he uses on his hair...his curls have no frizz! :)

The New Mark Street!!
As a child, one of our Christmas traditions was driving by Mark Street S.W. to look at the Christmas lights/decorations on this one house. I hope the owner of that house doesn't read my blog, but just in case, I will use my nice words to describe it. That house probably had more lights, nativity scenes, and some of the tackiest decorations on the planet. It also had a giant Bible, and by giant, I mean like 9 feet tall and you could read the words in the Bible. But every Wednesday night after church we would all ride by there and stare at that house. 2 years ago, I was still continuing this tradition with David when we drove by that house to see no decorations and a sign in the front yard saying that the man that had put up all those decorations had passed away. I was so upset! Tacky as they were, those folks went to a whole lot of trouble and that was a "Christmas Tradition" for my family. It is not the same not driving by to see that anymore. So, now we have a new tradition....have you seen this house?
It is close to us on Harrison Street S.E. If you have not been by, you are missing out.
(David was doing a test shot with the camera for this one, but I thought I should put it on here...especially since he looks so happy to be out in the cold at his wife's request to take a group photo.) This house has TONS of lights and a sign in the yard that gives you a radio station to tune into. It has Christmas music that is synchronized with the lights. Its pretty awesome. So, here is our gang in front of these peoples house. Hope they didn't think we were going to rob them or something...
This was our "surprised face..."Justin looks like he just saw the ghost of Christmas past....

Frosty Freeze 2009
Old Lady Higginbotham decided it was too cold for me to run in the Frosty Freeze this year. However, my nephew and friends Justin and Micah went to run in it. We went for moral support and sat in the nice warm car to watch them all freeze their backsides off. After the run, we all loaded up and went to City Cafe for breakfast. Can I just say that as long as I have lived in this town, I have never eaten breakfast there...or lunch!! Boy, have I been missing out! Our gang did quite well in the run. I think Steven got either 3rd or 4th in his division, Justin got 2nd and Micah got 1st. Way to go guys. You at least had my support from the car!! :)

Around minute 3:50, when they sack Tebow, he looks like the Russian going down in Rocky IV. Amazing!
