Christmas part 3

After David and I opened our presents from each other and Wilson got his stocking from Santa...we went to my mother's house for breakfast and presents over there. We got some great stuff and had a really good time being together. Here are some shots from the morning..

This is me and David putting our ornaments on my Mother's tree from her for this year.

Christmas part 2

David and I had a great Christmas this year as usual. Once I finally got into the Christmas spirit, which took a little while, we had fun. On Christmas morning, we got up and opened our presents from each other. We always do an ornament swap on Christmas Eve, and these were our ornaments for this year. I got David the camera and he got me the lab ornament.

We then moved on to presents for each other. I started off and I got several new cook books that I LOVE, some new workout clothes, a sweater, a sweet tea maker, a GPS/heart rate device for when I run, an electric toothbrush, another Oven Glove and a bluetooth. I got David alot of stuff that I have no idea what it is, but he asked for it. Lots of camera stuff, some kind of mount for his car, pocket wizzard holders and some other stuff. I also gave him his first magazine cover and photo story from Southern Bride that I had framed for him. It looks really good...I'll post pictures from that later. Here are the shots from Christmas at our house!

We are also those weird people who have a stocking for their dog like he was a child. Laugh if you will, but he is our baby...

Christmas part 1

So to start off our Christmas festivities, we always go to David's parents house on Christmas Eve. We had a wonderful dinner prepared by him mother and then we open gifts. We also receive a special phone call from the Jolly Old fella himself which is always fun. The kids get so excited to talk to Santa and this year they even tracked him on the radar. Here are some shots from the night...

Baking Fun!!

The Saturday before Christmas, David and I kept 4 of our 8 nieces and nephews at our house. We had a really good time with them and wish they would come stay with us more!! The girls and I started off the day by making homemade pizza which they all loved. They did such a good job and were surprisingly neat while cooking. During this, David and Noah broke out the video games and they played football and a few other things.

After lunch, we then moved on to making homemade chocolate chip cookies. They girls really enjoyed this as well, and then we delivered them to our neighbors houses in between the rain. It was a great day!!

This is quite possibly my favorite picture...Tess had a hard time squeezing the scoop to get the dough out, but she did not want any help. It was hilarious!!

I was trying to be a "fun aunt" but also not let the kids throw up all afternoon from eating cookie dough, so I gave them each a spoonful of dough to eat. Little did I know that Tess, the youngest, would stick her finger in the bowl every time I turned around to put the other kids spoons in the sink after they ate their one scoop...I found this out later...but she didn't get sick, so that is all that is important!!!

Gala 2008

I know I am very behind in my blogging with the holidays and all, so here is a picture of David and I from Gala this year. We had a great time. David worked for Dr. Elliot who was honored at the event and did a wonderful job as usual. He did get to experience what it was like to be a woman and walk around in uncomfortable shoes for hours on end though, so I think he has a new appreciation for why I like flats so much in my old age...

Birthday Fun!!

This weekend, my WONDERFUL friends had me a Happy Birthday Jesus/Happy Birthday Anna party in Mobile. We had an awesome time and went to Bellingrath Gardens, Foley to the outlets, and had a wonderful dinner prepared by Lawren. I will post the pictures soon from the event. It was absolutely wonderful and I am so thankful to have such wonderful friends. So, today is the big day....the big 27!! It is not really an exciting birthday, it actually kind of stinks because it is really close to 30. But it beats the alternative...So I am about to celebrate and go fishing...wish me luck!!

Husband's say the darndest things....

So this week, David and I have alternated with the stomach flu. It was nasty and I am glad we are over it. He had a hard time sleeping at night, but I somehow managed to sleep just fine. :) This morning though at about 5:00, when I got up to make cupcakes (that is a whole other story), I heard him say, "Did you just say jeans suck and the sheets are crooked?" To which I answered, "No I did not say that...go back to sleep." We both have this weird habit of talking in our sleep. We try to keep a running list of things we say, but I can't remember all of them. Here are just a few...

1. Bret is in the suitcase (Said by me after our honeymoon...talking about our friend Bret from Mobile.

2. Roll over and keep it low...(said by David, and I don't know its origin.)

There are tons more, but these are the first that come to mind. I will post more when I think of them.

Anatomy, Anatomy....why are you so hard to me???

So as most of you know, in my spare time I am in nursing school....well, actually I am taking the anatomy classes before nursing school and boy do they suck. I have determined after taking this class that anyone who thinks we evolved from a big blob of goo is an idiot. There are so many things that go into making your body just function on a day to day basis that it is amazing...all the muscles, bones, nerves...it is really unbelievable. Okay, I will move on. So, in this class, we obviously have to learn everything about the body and there is a lot to know. So, I had my wonderful husband come up to class the other night and shoot pictures of all of the models that we have that we were tested on Monday night. It really helped me to be able to actually study the real thing instead of what is in the book, because they look totally different. So, while I do have undying devotion and gratitude to my husband for taking these 38 pictures for me to learn, I do have to make fun of him a little. Any of you that know David know he has an interesting sense of humor. So, that is where these pictures came from. We couldn't just go and take pictures of what I needed to study, we had to take pictures with the skeletons....hope you enjoy!!

As goofy as that was, we sure did have a good time. We got finished right before a girl from the next class walked in. Thank goodness she didn't see us.

Iron Bowl 2008...A Little Late

Well it has been a great year to be a BAMA fan. After many years of horrible seasons, this one has been great so far. Keep your fingers crossed for the Sugar Bowl!!! Here are some shots from the day!

The squirel

Some of you may not find this humorous, but we have had more fun with this squirel. It is a long story, but I will condense it. My friend Kelli has this stuffed squirel in her basement. We are not sure of where exactly it came from, but David has become obsessed with the squirel. The very first time we spent the night there was when the squirel was discovered. So now, every time we go there, David has to take some sort of picture with the squirel. So here are our shots from the most recent trip...
